Why can't NC republicans focus on jobs and the economy instead of constantly attacking women? Now they are going after women who expose their breasts.

Is this so rampant of a problem it requires legislation? I'm out in public all day, every day; I see cleavage but no bare breasts.

There was some sort of protest a few months ago in Asheville where women were baring their breasts, or threatening to. There's probably a thread on it in the Western NC forum.

I think the legislation has been discussed somewhere else as well... not really new news.

Sounds like a whole lot of nothing.

This is, please remember, the party who still claims to be the "party of LESS government regulation."

They hide it behind a veil of moral regulation.
Notice how the church wailed when Obama was going to force the church employers to provide BC, yet stood silent when ammendment one was proposed?

This is a perfect example of what happens with pass-the-buck politics:

1. Asheville has had a "GoTopless" rally for the past couple of years. This rally consists of about a dozen women and THOUSANDS of male gawkers.

2. Business owners and tourists complained and appeals were made to the Asheville City Council to do something about it.

3. Asheville's City Council responds saying they can't do anything about it because NC state law allows for female toplessness - it is therefore a state issue. The City Council directly appealed to the state legislature to do something about it. (SOURCE)

So a gutless city council of one of NC's most liberal towns passed the buck to the self-appointed morality state police and they are now shocked that the kooks Raleigh took the ball and ran with it.

Hope this helps,
Opt-Out

But should it be a FELONY? That's what they're proposing.
