According to this analysis, North Carolinians will fare worse than any other state with Obamacare.

Specifically, this article looks at 27-year-old men and women and 40-year-old men and women.

27-year-old men, and both 40-year-old men and women, will see some of the absolute worst rate hikes in the country compared to current plans on the private market in North Carolina.

No analysis on how senior citizens would fare.

My insurance and rates will change very little.

I'm a 40 year old man.

If we had a state exchange, those numbers would look very different.

Thanks McCrory!

Yup.

And thanks for not expanding Medicaid. That would've helped plenty of families.

All of this is about who pays. Does nothing to get the high cost of healthcare in the US under control. Zero.

I feel like a single payer system may have helped there - but I really don't know. Does anyone know?

Also I crack up every time I see your posts because I read them in Anthony Weiner's voice.

I remember when Congress was negotiating Obamacare. All of the proposals to get costs under control were left out due to lobbying.

Buy prescriptions from Canada? No. Must protect big Pharma.
More Doctors? No,must protect their incomes by limiting supply.
Sell medical insurance across state lines? No.
End laws to limit hospital beds and the number of nurses? No.

The list goes on. So we're left with subsidies. Higher premiums. Throwing more $$ at the problem.

The only thing I disagree with is your use of the the word "negotiating". This law was not negociated. It was rammed through by one party who now own it.

The issue of insurance across state lines is a HUGE one - I remember hearing that it would have required changes in state law - all of them - and was abandoned. Never heard more about the specifics but I want to read up on it, because I feel like that's a game changer.

And we would have payed for this how? Are you willing to accept a 50-60% tax rate for your Utopia?

False based on yesterday's rollout in other states.
