I am considering moving to Wilson NC in the next year and I was hoping to get some current information on the area. Most of the forums I have read are now a few years old and I am not sure how accurate they are anymore. Generally, the consensus is that east Wilson around the college is a bad area. I have seen a few listings for nice looking older houses in that area. But when I use google street level view I find that many adjacent houses and buildings appear abandoned. I also checked the crime statistics and it is mostly drug related and theft related crimes and seems high considering the population.

I was hoping that a local could give me an idea of what it is like to live in this neighborhood in Wilson and if they feel it has improved over the last few years.

Thanks.

There isn't much activity on this board regarding Wilson. I don't see the town improving any time soon, and I was wondering what you hope to accomplish by moving there?

I assume you've seen these threads:

I think you''ll be better off in Cavalier Terrace than over by the school. There are three Historic areas in Wilson but the best one runs up Nash Street north of the college.

You are more likely to see people standing around with their pants down and drawers exposed over in the area you cited.

But your mileage may vary.
