Yes, and we are saving $424 a month compared to our old policy, which was crap. The new policy let's us keep our doctors and it reduces out copay.

Since it has been 4 weeks, I guess I have a couple of options: Call the 1-800 number back to see if they can tell me anything; attempt to sign on to the website, maybe I can look at my eligibility notice there; call BC/BS NC to see if they have received my 834.

Thanks for the info, Goat1!!! I've been busy with other things and was hoping if I ignored the problem for a while it would sort itself out.

I can only imagine the task ahead for the Marketplace: to verify all those applications? That is pretty crazy.
Try online again. We've been able to get through without a problem. we have the BCBS policy $500 deductible. It's $424 less than out current policy with BCBS that has a $3500 deductible.

P.S. you can also go to the BCBS website and sign up there.

I was told by BCBS of NC that if I sign up through their website, I will not receive a subsidy. Since I don't quality for one, that's fine by me. But be aware that your statement may be inaccurate or misleading to those that do qualify.

[quote=goat1of2;32142767]I would just like to start a thread where we North Carolinians compare healthcare.gov experiences. healthcare.gov experiences (or...has ANYONE succeeded?)

Yes, the democrats succeeded. Remember..."You have to pass the bill in order to read what's in it" - Nancy Pelosi

This is what's in it, if you want to keep your current policy, you can, period! - We gottcha now, up yours America! Stay Tuned because there is more to come.

Maybe you might know...if NC had chosen to participate in the system, would that have involved hiring staff to process and approve the applications? or is that all the job of the feds?
Oh. "healthcare.gov" is a euphemism for Obamacare which is a euphemism for something else?

I don't know anything about NC beyond what the 10th amendment says but apparently CT was the only site not to fail so perhaps everyone can learn something from there.

That's great! My BCBS plan is raising costs for RX and my copay is going up 50%. So that might be another subsidy for you.

“We currently have a highly discriminatory system where if you’re sick, if you’ve been sick or if you’re going to get sick, you cannot get health insurance,” he continued. “The only way to end that discriminatory system is to bring everyone into the system and pay one fair price. That means that the genetic winners, the lottery winners who have been paying an artificially low price because of this discrimination now will have to pay more in return." -Jonathan "Hans" Gruber
