I will be flying out next weekend for a job interview and to check out the area. I think I'll have about one free day with a rental car to check out the area. The job is in La Grange, so I will be looking at towns within about 30 - 40 miles of there. It's not a lot of time to explore the area, and think about making such a huge decision, if I get the job. I don't think I could be moving much further from where I am now, in terms of distance, climate and culture. But it would be great career move - a really great job. For any of you who have relocated, how would you advise I best spend my limited time? Are there things you wish you had found out more about, before moving? I've been checking out towns, schools, real estate etc on the internet. Any advice on how to make the most of such a short visit would be appreciated.
