There are often rail vs bus transit debates on the forums. In bad winter weather though, the rail wins hands down...

"The Charlotte Area Transit System said it will end its bus service at 6 p.m. Wednesday because of the storm. CATS said its light rail service will continue on its normal schedule."

I'll admit now, this was "a big one". Usually if it snows here, it lasts half a day and melts away during the following day.

The NWS has extended winter storm warnings to 6 PM Thursday across most of the state. Three straight days of accumulating frozen stuff is highly unusual.
