Ok so I was listening to the radio this morning on my way to work foxy 107/104 and basically they were talking about the schools & the teaching jobs here is the state even trying to make the school system better & pay the teachers a decent wage or whats really going on. Is the issue moreso with the public school systems or the university system as well I have alot of concerned questions???

They're talking about public schools. NC has one of the lowest rates of average teacher pay in the country.

Yes, but that's just the starting rate. The rate for teachers with experience does not go up correspondingly, so some brand new teachers will make as much as teachers who have years of experience. Talk about demoralizing.

true, but that is no different than engineers who get a few years experience with increased salary and are let go to be replaced by lower cost fresh out of college replacements.

Life isn't fair, it just is.

No that's not the same at all, theoldnorthstate. In your example, the fresh out of college replacements would be making MORE than the engineers who get a few years experience, not less.
