My husband is currently interviewing for a job in Southeast area of NC near Goldsboro. I am looking to learn about best location to live for a family, for jobs, etc....any information would be most helpful. We are coming from Upstate NY.

My own recommendation would be to live closer to Raleigh, such as Clayton. There are attractive suburban communities there, plus more job opportunities in the Raleigh suburbs for the spouse. However, there are some threads about Goldsboro in the Coastal North Carolina sub-forum:

You need to provide a lot more info as to what you are looking for, what kind of neighborhood, amenities, political views, etc. It's a very diverse state that accommodates all ranges of people, but not everyone wants to live in the same place.
