I changed my address on my registration last summer after I moved and now my renewal says no inspection due, my registration also says inspection not due until 2016...should I call the NC DMV and let them know or take the lucky break? Has this happened to anyone else?

Is it a new car? I believe they changed the inspection requirement so that newer cars aren't required to get re-inspected for at least 2 years.

Huh. That's interesting. Well, let it ride. At worst, you wouldn't be able to renew your registration next year until you get it inspected. Just be sure to renew the registration when the time comes, so you've got a current sticker on your license plate.

I got my renewal notice in the mail. Tried to renew online. Wouldn't let me until I got my car inspected. Once I did, the online renewal sailed through.

yeah I guess I'll find out for sure once I try to do the renewal online...I know that's typically what happens but since every piece of paper says its not due, who knows. if I have to get it inspected, no big deal.
