Would you leave NC for another state if you could? This question was asked in another state's forum, so just curious what the poll results would be like for NC.

Not yet, but if the republicans in the general assembly keep at it...

Conveniently... all manner of folks seem bound and determined to come in
so finding a buyer for our homes shouldn't need be a factor in any decision making.

That shifts the conversation entirely to the practical ...and maybe the emotional.
Practical: Can you earn enough to hold it together somewhere else?
Emotional: Are your ties to/discontent with strong enough to withstand/mitigate the change?

Interesting question. Can't give you an answer yet, but I agree with both carolinadawg2 and MrRational.

I never thought I'd ever consider leaving NC, other than the time we were in Greenville, SC (2008-2012) for hubby's job. I am a life-long, diehard North Carolinian. However, I'm actually having that conversation with myself due the direction NC has begun taking in the past few years. I am very sad to see so much of what I've loved about my home state being dismantled by the current politicians in state office.

If it goes back to the Democratic party... Texas is looking better every year for me.

I wouldn't mind a move. Too many transplants taking over NC (yes, I see the irony).

What kind of answer is that? Republicans hold a super majority in NC politics

I would leave NC for Philadelphia, Baltimore, Boston, Seattle, Chicago, Portland, Denver, Minneapolis or DC. Not because of politics, but I Think I would like To live in those cities

Yes because I would love to be back on the West Coast living in San Diego and all of its perfect year round weather. For now I have to stay in NC.

I've though about moving back to DC after I'm no longer needed here. I like great public transportation.

That's the truth! Don't foget La Jolla.

I think lots of people are/were crowding to NC looking for escape from the effects of the economic slowdown. They don't realize its nationwide. Whenever I come back to NC, I see the subtle effects of decay here and there..
