The OP is from North Jersey. I've heard folks from North Jersey use the term Bible Thumpers. People in South Jersey usually use the term Born Agains. They are fairly close in meaning to the term Religious Right. I do think that the North Jersey term might be a bit more expansive.
Regardless, when people are minding their own business on religious matters & not trying to make their religious views law, or passing judgment on others based on religious views, these are not terms that you are likely to hear. There is an implied context to the terms.
