Are there any areas to avoid in Granite Quarry?
I know there are not many people. City-data reported that in 2013 there was a population of 2951.

I had to look up Granite Quarry, and it is next to Salisbury, NC. I suppose you might avoid the quarries if you don't like blasting and stone dust. They are in surrounding towns like China Grove, rather than Granite Quarry itself: http://bit.ly/1K3e6WA

Granite Quarry is near Hickory. While I can't give you information about where to live in Granite Quarry, I can tell you 2 things. You'll do most of your shopping in Hickory. Also, I had a seasonal job in Hickory last fall & everyone who I dealt with who was from Granite Quarry was extremely nice. I mean everyone without exception.

No, you are confusing Granite Quarry with Granite Falls. Granite Falls is near Hickory.

Goldenage1 is correct... Granite Quarry is in Rowan County, near Salisbury.

Granite everywhere.

I drive through every now and then. It's cute, and not at all far from Salisbury.

Nice little town some shopping but no major food stores. Has some nice developments. Rt 52 runs through it and can see some traffic. Main Street is nice but most business is on Rt 52. Salisbury is the place to shop. Granite that came from their had a pinkish hue to it and a lot of the oldest homes are made out of granite.

There is a lot of granite outcropping across the town which adds to the look. Schools are OK and the High School is East Rowan.

Nice place to settle.

As is mentioned in the various responses, Granite Quarry is small suburb of Salisbury. There is really no "bad" part of the town. There are quite a few new housing developments just inside the town limits and also in the unincorporated part of Rowan County too. Most of the housing stock if I remember is primarily single family housing. There might be some rental in the form of small duplexes or single family homes. Over all it is a very quiet and quaint town.
