At $14.15 million you would think they would need two - 20 stories towers to cover the cost of the land.

I'm more concerned about the ground floor. It's an extremely important piece of the puzzle for retail "district" that could span the entire 1 mile length of Southern end of Stonewall leading directly to Metropolitan's retail & SouthEnd's retail

For decades our skyline was linear along Tryon, now it's going to stretch out further from East to West Than it is North to South. Glad a strong core is developing and it isnt developing linear

A lot of development is going along Stonewall. Nearly an entire mile with every parcel except one (so far) that isn't being developed

Developers aren't usually thinking about the skyline or how tall the building will be. It's more about filling the space than anything else.

Yes, 40 feet in residential zones, for example.

Absolutely. It's a short heigh limit at like 30 floors or so Dowtown. I think a few months ago the North Hills area was reasoned for up to 40 floors and just recently a street in downtown was rezoned for up to 40 floors. But if I understand correctly, only a couple parcels would really be suitable for a taller building. But also a zoning law that was favorable to a lower density (compared to Highrise development) was put into place.

Though, someone from Raleigh would have to expand or even correct me if I'm wrong.
