It is with deep consideration and much regret that we must cancel the Raleigh show in North Carolina on April 20th.
This will be upsetting to those who have tickets and you can be assured that we are equally frustrated by the situation.
The HB2 law that was recently passed is a despicable piece of legislation that encourages discrimination against an entire group of American citizens. The practical implications are expansive and its negative impact upon basic human rights is profound. We want America to be a place where no one can be turned away from a business because of who they love or fired from their job for who they are.
It is for this reason that we must take a stand against prejudice, along with other artists and businesses, and join those in North Carolina who are working to oppose HB2 and repair what is currently unacceptable.
We have communicated with local groups and will be providing them with funds to help facilitate progress on this issue.
In the meantime we will be watching with hope and waiting in line for a time when we can return.
I don't like HB2 no more than almost anybody else does, but how many HB2-related threads do we need cluttering up the main NC forum? Shouldn't they all be merged with the main HB2 thread Francois created? Pearl Jam's announcement was also posted there.

Just my opinion, but that thread title doesn't real tell the story of the economic items of the bill...if it was re-titled to "Fallout of HB2" or something like that...then I would agree.
Well Danville, VA it wouldn't bother me to find the need to scroll through three pages of HB2 protests, cancellations and company pull-out's. That would mean folks have no intention of letting this thing get put on the back burner.
Anyone else COMPLETELY unsurprised by how uninformed HB2 supporters are? They can't believe Pearl Jam still plays, they wonder who Ringo Starr is... it goes along with their views, completely disconnected from the modern world!

What the hell does where I currently live have anything to do with it? I'm on the NC forum since I'm originally from NC (eastern NC specifically and only left NC due to health-related circumstances in the family) and therefore I try keep up with things happening in my home state and help others out that might be looking for info as best I can. Luckily, I've lived in NC long enough to know that you're kind of attitude towards those that appear to be "outsiders" isn't the majority.
(Apologies in advance to the mods for being off-topic, but I had to set the record straight)
