That's what one of the actors at Colonial Williamsburg told me yesterday. What do you think of that?

Scratch that place off my bucket list. I'm not going to debate it as I think title is rude hehe. J/k
The first permanent settlers did move to NC because of vast farmlands.
I guess today mirror the past; Transplants seek better life in North Carolina.

North Carolina was the first colony and archicealogist recently discovered artifacts from the Roanoke Colony known as the Lost Colony known as Date County.
I find that fascinating, this definitely on my bucket list to see the play.

Just reinforces the old saying...NC is a vale of humility between 2 mountains of conceit.

No thanks.

BTW congrats on Jamestown;but FYI Roanoke is the real first permanent English settlement in N. America. They weren't "lost" ;they moved to Croatan Island and mixed it up with the Natives there. There is significant genealogical evidence to support this.

NC is like a more "good ol' boy" version of VA.

At their cores, it's also interesting to note how different Raleigh and Richmond are although they're less than 3 hours apart.

North Carolinians should be so lucky to be called Virginians!

"To Be A Virginian by Birth, Marriage, Adoption, or even on one's Mother's side is an Introduction to any State in the Union, a Passport to any Foregin Country, and a Benediction from the Almighty God."

I love both states. Why the need to make them into vicious rivals?

The rivalry has been going on for 200 years or more. And I'd hardly call anything on this thread "vicious". I'm assuming its all pretty lighthearted.
