For those that might be interested. The US Supreme Court is the next step. (Apologies in advance if there's already a thread on this case)

Of course, The state Supreme Court is like the legislator mostly Republicans.
Things may change after the next centennial census.

I hope so, but I don't see how. The republicans would have to somehow lose control of the legislature in 2020. Since they've gerrymandered themselves in, how are going to lose control?

The most ridiculous part of that article is the very last quote...

Quote:
"It’s time for these left-wing groups to stop wasting taxpayer money pursuing their frivolous and politically motivated appeals and finally accept the will of the voters."
The reality is; the NC Supreme Court and wackjob legislature should realize that the "will of the voters" is null-in-void because of their obscene gerrymandering.

ROFLMAO! What part of gerrymandering Asheville into the same district with Gastonia is NOT obscene?

I know quite a few democrats who voted for Paul Newby just because of his name, sadly.

Same for Cherie Berry... great name to have for downticket races.

in a nutshell, how was this worse than D gerrymandering before?

though first, let me say that I wish the R's didn't do any gerrymandering. I really do wish that "my" party could have governed the right way, the way governance hadn't been done under the Dems. Alas, a pipedream of naivete.
