Me and my bf are considering a move to NC from Delaware. He is going to go with a friend and check it out in a couple days, his day off and take a day off from work. He wants to move there for the warmer weather--it was his idea, I was picturing somewhere midwest, but his family lives in New Jersey and its closer. His mom does want to retire though so maybe thats in the cards. He did want to move to Georgia but his friend told him about Chapel Hill and Greensboro for the Turkish community (he's Turkish).
I wouldn't mind moving to NC because I grew up in a very rural area of corn fields and hay farms and the 25 acres of woods I grew up on. From looking online it looks like NC has lots of parks, libraries (is there overcrowding of libraries, whats the deal?), state parks, just outdoorsiness which I would love to share with my children. Here, its very limited as far as outdoor things except your usual trip to the park which are nothing compared to your state. I hope so much that we are able to find a place with a yard because to me thats the most important. Me and my bf just want to start our family now, really settle ;we live in apartment. Yea, I also want to know how close the beaches are to Raleigh and if there is any major traffic issues from Greensboro to that district.

Well, not really sure what you are asking. The Raleigh area is very urban, but there are towns outside RDU that would be more rural. It is several hours to the beach from G'boro or RDU. There are plenty of state parks if you want to go hiking or exploring, plus the state zoo in Asheboro and the Blue Ridge mountains to the west.
Not sure what you meant about major traffic issues f/ Greensboro to RDU -there are interstates to get you b/n those 2 points and w/ construction, yes, there are sometimes delays.
From Greensboro you are 3.5 hours from the beach and 2 hours from the Blue Ridge Mtns.
In Northern Guilford County,( just outside of Greensboro city limits) Brown Summit offers many nice comunities in rural areas. Google Brooke Meadows and Pearson Farm in that area. The houses range from 185,000 to 350,000. My wife moved here from Millsboro, De. and she loves it here. Hope you both do too. If we can help in anyway let us know.
