Hello Everyone,

I need some help about areas to stay away from that have high crime rates in charlotte. I am working with a realtor but they are unable to steer me to a specific area. My husband and I are living in CT with a 13 year old daughter going into HS in the fall and son that is 19 in community college here. My husband already has a job lined up in Pineville NC and I am currently applying for a school position in either NC or SC. We are looking to move in June when my daughter is out of school. I would like to be no more than a 30 minute drive from Pineville, NC. H.S. definitely has to be a good one. What would you guys recommend? I want to rent for a year before I purchase just to scope out the areas, but I want to rent in an area where I will eventually would like to live in. I like what I have heard about Fort Mill, SC and Belmont, NC. I will like to be in the suburbs not the city. Any help will be appreciated! Thank You!

First, it sounds like you need a different realtor.

Second, you should re-post this in the Charlotte sub-forum.

Ft. Mill and Belmont would both be good choices. Attractive, Great schools, Low taxes, good housing choices, safe, family oriented, lots to do. Belmont is very close to the airport.
