Los Angles is 4,030,668 million people, the second largest city in the USA. I do not think there is a city in the southeast US could compete with LA. Only when the ocean rises and LA is dump into the Pacific Ocean. You can say good by to
Metro São Paulo also if the oceans rises as high as perdicted
I doubt it could be larger including the entire Charlotte metro. Metrolina is the sole primary city in the Appalachian region or possibly the entire southeastern United States.
Not “including” metrolina as in “omg, it’s bigger than even Charlotte!” .....
I said All of N.C. plus an additional metrolina and metro LA would still have a larger pop. As in metro Charlotte could double in Pop. And I believe metro LA would still be more populated than N.C.
CIAA tournament March 1-3 will bring in 100k people. Not to mention the Billy Graham funeral.... Multiple living presidents including key figures could attend. 77 will be a nightmare
RDU has an amazing economic engine, we can't refute that. I hope Charlotte hangs in there for the years to come, technology, education, and politics dominate economic versatility.

Let's not sell the Queen City short here. Los Angeles has had an annual population growth rate of 1% for the past decade and will continue for the years to come... Charlotte has an annual population growth rate of roughly 1.89-2%... I seriously doubt Los Angeles is in any competition for the growth Charlotte has consistently maintained. Metrolina has one of the fastest growing GDP's just above the northern hemisphere
The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis says the per capita income, or PCI, of the Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia metropolitan area increased by 8.1% between 2014 and 2016. The latter is the most recent year for which official figures are available.
The corresponding growth for the entire nation was 5.9% over the same two-year span.
The Charlotte metro ties with Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford, Fla., for No. 13 among the nation’s 75 largest metros. The local PCI rose from $43,198 in 2014 to $46,679 in 2016. Raleigh-Cary tied Greensboro-High Point for No. 32 in growth at 6.5% — but Raleigh's PCI was higher to start with, increasing from $47,346 in 2014 to $50,444 in 2016, while Greensboro's increased from $38,177 to $40,663.
Note: Raleigh has a higher cost of living.
A salary of $38,000 in Raleigh, North Carolina could decrease to $36,176 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I am not going to get into Charlotte & Raleigh fight about this.

Charlotte is one of the top-ranked premier 21st-century business centers in the northern hemisphere. Charlotte has become a major U.S. financial center with the third most banking assets after New York City and San Francisco. Where's L.A.? Los Angeles may have some dealings in after-school theatre, but Charlotte is an international financial powerhouse! Charlotte has six Fortune 500 companies in its metropolitan area. Listed in order of their rank, they are: Bank of America, Lowe's in suburban Mooresville, Duke Energy, Nucor (steel producer), Sonic Automotive and Sealed Air Corp. Charlotte's business growth has consistently outranked Los Angeles per capita than most cities in North and South America.
I believe the era of legacy cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco have reached their peak, Metrolina will be the pivotal force that will shoot us into the ages to come.
