Yeah I definitely wouldn't mind living there. It looks like there is a lot going on.

In that case, I'd highly suggest the South End, Plaza Midwood, and Noda areas of Charlotte. Some parts of uptown would be in your price range as well if you (and your friends) avoid high rise rentals.

Don't teach in NC. Bad state for teachers. Go somewhere where they respect the profession.

No worries there. The OP can live in South End and commute 20 mins to a teaching job in Fort Mill.
