A 49,098-square-foot grocery store could anchor a retail center, currently known as "Southern Pines," on 31 acres at United States Highway 15/501 and Volt Gilmore Lane in the Town of Southern Pines in Moore County, North Carolina. A four-lane road would connect Volt Gilmore Lane to Morganton Road.

The grocery store, which appears to have a pharmacy drive thru, could be a Publix supermarket. Publix has opened several new stores that are 49,098 square feet.

Question Is Publix coming to Southern Pines, North Carolina?

It appears the grocer for the new grocery-anchored retail center is Publix indeed. Publix was mentioned recently at a Pinehurt town council meeting.
