Bureau of Labor Statistics Data
Metro Charlotte benefits from having some of its metro in SC. SC is in the top 5.

True, but some of the growth on the SC side of the metro is attributed to jobs that merely crossed the state line. I'd like to see more organic growth in Fort Mill and Indian Land in the coming years.

I think it's the reverse. South Carolina's rank is benefiting from Charlotte's growth.

I would question that premise ... since more than half of South Carolina's job growth during the period has occurred in the greater Charleston Metro... and since the Greenville area has also been doing quite well ..but in any case ... we will take the job growth anywhere it occurs...

I will say tho ...folks from both Charlotte and Charleston seem to enjoy each others attractions and strengths ... lots of folks traveling between them both .. for business and pleasure ... adding a bit to job growth in both areas.

The comment was that Charlotte benefits from being partially in a state that is top 5 in growth. I'm not sure how a city being in a state that is ranked well directly benefits it in gaining jobs, but I can obviously tell how a city's job growth can contribute to the state's overall numbers.

You have numbers for that? Obviously Charleston was a big recipient of job growth during that period, but I haven't see where it has accounted for more than half of the state's job growth for the past 5 years.
