Like I said I haven't done it, but I don't think it's too hard. I've just walked a portion of it and it's pretty easy going. Google maps has a cool feature where you can choose bike as your method of transport and it will tell you the elevation gain, etc.

Says it should take 2 hrs, and you go up 715 ft and down 610 ft over the course of almost 19 miles
. In contrast from Whitetop to Damascus you go down almost 4000 ft. They estimate that as 2 hrs, too, so 4 hours for the whole thing.

We used to ride all sections of the Creeper Trail a LOT but it's been several years. The stretch from Damascus to Abingdon is a nice ride but a bit deceptive. You think it's flat, but about halfway out it's ever so slightly uphill the rest of the way to Abingdon. Nothing that should discourage you from doing it, but it helps to be mentally prepared. On the reverse, Abingdon to Damascus is a breeze.
