What concerns me about Burr is a failure to deny the allegation by Ross that he's taking money from insurance companies & promoting privatization of Medicare. Up to that allegation, he didn't concern me & I was waiting with bated breath to vote against Tillis. Now I'm happy to vote against Burr.

What gets me sb, is that I'm still getting junk mail about Burr "saving" Medicare! Saving it for whom? For his political backers (insurance companies) who are hoping for a bigger chunk of his "privatized version" of Medicare? What a crock! Tell Burr to save our Medicare? I'd like to tell Burr to take a long walk off a short pier! Believe it or not, I still prefer him over Thom Tillis ...who really needs to be gone from the Senate! I'd vote for Fidel Castro over Thom Tillis!

Well, I voted against Tillis but he got in, I suspect because he kept telling the folks near I 77 that he "took care of them", which he did by saluting them with the bird after selling them down the river.

I have great hope that we can get rid of McHenry, here in district 10. I understand that the democratic opponent is a very credible man from Polk County. Honestly, I'd vote for Lassie against McHenry, so I understand you preferring Fidel over Tillis.

As to Ross, she's a lawyer. She's got to be better able to serve our interests than Burr. I heard that before going to DC, to make his fortune, he was a bicycle salesman. Nothing wrong with that, but I think that a lawyer is equipped to do more & she doesn't seem disposed to privatize Medicare.

Burr did not actually propose privatizing medicare. There were many changes and reforms proposed. There were some reforms to offer options provided by private companies. They went no where.
The corporate, Wall St, big insurance, big bank establishment does not want Burr or his party.

You're going to have to wait until at least 2018 to see that happen...

sb - I hope you don't think that I ever voted for Tillis or "Atillis the Hun"! Lassie would be a definite improvement over McHenry whose supporters are most likely the "give me Liberty or give me meth or oxy!" voters. Maybe Lassie could push McHenry down a well!

I'm hoping that after Nov 8th, Burr can bicycle ride himself into the sunset! I'll take a saavy ACLU lawyer over a bicycle salesman any day of the week!

Burr was not a bicycle salesman.

I didn't think that you would ever vote for Tillis, Emissary.

For now, I'm just so sick of the political ads. Burr has made no attempt to refute the charges that he's been taking money from the insurance companies & worked on privatizing Medicare. It's the one form of insurance that really works for people. He has to go.

Wasn't this thread about Ross? If so, she is pretty far from center right on anything!

I am pretty doubtful that anyone who has done research on the candidates was ever on the fence about Burr or Ross.

Burr has been a pretty centered candidate overall, and has represented NC well.

Ross will be a left wing rookie in the Senate. She will have the interests of very liberal groups who have bankrolled her campaign, not the interests of NC.

If you are a true independent, you would NEVER vote "straight party" in any general election. And Burr would be the centered choice.
