"The Charlotte City Council voted unanimously on Monday morning to repeal the non-discrimination ordinance passed earlier this year that led the North Carolina General Assembly to call a special session and pass House Bill 2 into law, which advocates maintain is the worst anti-LGBT legislation in the nation.
Multiple Charlotte media outlets report from the city council meeting that the ordinance repeal is dependent on the North Carolina General Assembly repealing HB2 by December 31."

I know this is a hit for LBGT groups. But this was costing the state a enormous amount of money. HB2 will be repealed tomorrow.

I'm afraid of what else the NCGA will do tomorrow too. Last time they said they were there for disaster relief and then we got all that other stuff. What are we going to get this time?

Do they really trust the GOP to follow through? Since when have they played fair?

They gave the GA a ultimatum, so they kinda have to unless the GA wants to be blamed for every economic loss to the state.

Governor-Elect Roy Cooper says both the Speaker and the Senate Leader have assured him a fifth special session will be called tomorrow to repeal #HB2.

I don't think they're too much worried about that. Compromise is the last thing on their minds.

Seeing as this happened right after the smoke cleared from McCrory's kicking & screaming following the elections, I have a hard time believing the timing is a coincidence. HB2 was a big reason McCrory was given the boot and had Charlotte repealed the ordinance and the General Assembly repealed HB2 before the elections, McCrory might have stood a better chance of being re-elected.

That being said, I'm happy McCrory lost. Jennifer Roberts will probably lose her re-election too since she's now angered people on both sides of the aisle. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?
