I'm considering a position with the VA in Fayetteville. It is located at 2300 Ramsey Street, so that's where I would be working out of, but not where I want to live.
Are there areas around Fayetteville that offer up country living, you know off roading, hunting (or at least shooting), fishing, and just a laid back area? How far would I need to commute for that?
I've been born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL.. I've done my share of clubs, nightlife, crowds and traffic, now I'm looking for a complete change in lifestyle, I'd rather sit around a campfire at night than go to a club or bar.
The area around Fayetteville are very rural. A 30 minute drive will put you in the country. Look south and east of Fayetteville...off Hwy. 87 going towards Tar Heel, Hwy. 24 towards Autryville and Hwy. 13 towards Spivey's Corner and maybe up Hwy. 401 towards Bunnlevel.
Eastover, Wade, Stedman, Beaver Dam, Turnbull (furtherest out)....all east of the river....all good country living...and driveable to Fayetteville........30-40 minute commute at the most. Plenty of deer, bear, duck hunting.......lots of hunting groups out this way, too.
