My husband and I currently live in Va but he was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and I in Chicago before moving to NY so we're both city folks. However we are looking to move from VA further South. VA is not for everyone. We find NC to be more popular and heard great things about SC as well. We visited mrytle beach and fell in love!!! And visited Elizabeth, NC and that place wasn't that's nice. It we have heard it's nicer places in NC like Charlotte, Durham, Ralaigh. We don't know much about SC though. Can anyone provide insight regarding other good places for folks to relocate to within hear two states.

Diversity is important to us. Job opportunities. Low cost of living. Sc Mrytle beach is so beautiful with the weather and palm trees. I wonder if NC weather is the same. The people in Mrytle beach were also very kind and we saw all cultures there which reminded us New York. I wonder if there are other cities in
SC or NC similar to Mrytle. If not then we have chosen our place Lol.

Plenty of "Yanks" in Raleigh, NC! Personally I think it is a great place!

Good job opportunities and low cost of living don't generally go hand in hand. It sounds like you need to spend some time visiting the 2 states to determine if you'd like it. Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham, Greensville/Spartanburg and Charleston are all nice places. You need to be more specific about what you're looking for.

VirginiaNotForLovers, I think if you love Myrtle Beach, go with Myrtle Beach. North Carolina doesn't really have anything like that here.

I'd imagine that you could get a good yank anywhere if you looked really hard (pun intended).
My post is only funny if you look at the title of this thread differently.

Solution: live in Wilmington, NC and vacation at Myrtle Beach.
