I would hope that the politicians had the sense to inform the NCAA of the contents of this bill and get their feedback before bringing this to a vote.
I know it seems odd to get approval from an outside organization before moving forward with a bill, but if the goal is to get rid of HB2 and bring the games back to NC, it would be the smart thing to do, IMO. If the NCAA is satisfied with it, I would expect the NBA, ACC, and everybody and everything else that had boycotted NC to fall in line as well.
Really not odd at all to get outside organization's endorsement of legislation. Back when dinosaurs walked the earth that was de rigueur in crafting legislation. Lee Atwater (may he burn in ****) was in many ways largely responsible for the scorched earth, '50% plus 1 makes right' policy that has dominated policy-making in recent years.

Since I don't actually live in Charlotte, I usually refrain from commenting about her, but she must be out of her mind. When the whole stink started it came out that she didn't have lawyers draw up her ordinance. It's on her. I don't know where she's coming from. Did she think that she could dust off her ordinance & get it passed again?
