One more MN plate coming in two weeks when me and a friend drive down to visit, and a MN plate and a WI plate when my fiancé and I move (hopefully) for good before it snows up here again! I'm with you, T.S.-- that dumping we got in March was too much!

I agree with Pixie & Mark about the immigration and Confederate flag issue.

Would some, ( or most) of the people fleeing to NC be moving because they are tired of the PC crap and the calamity it has caused in this country? Modern American culture in my opinion* has become a gutter culture. Money & sex is all that matters anymore, oh, and being PC & diversity. Just read fastfilm's posts and that is what CA is. I understand a large part of FL is cuban. What happened to immigrating here and assimilating and learning english? I know a man who moved from South Africa ten years ago, because he is white and didn't want to wake up one morning with his throat slit. Another man from Europe left because Europe is socialist and like England, is swarming with muslims and africans. There are gangs over there that will kill you if they see you wearing a cross. The liberal media won't report on these incidents either. The invaders in Europe don't have tolerance or want diversity, but it is crammed down our throats by the PCer's here. Do you really want this country to go the way of Europe and England? We can't even voice our opinions in this country anymore without being labeled a racist. It seems that areas in this country who are predominantly "other" cultures, do not share the tolerance for other people's religions as we American's traditionally have in the past. They like coming here so they can worship freely, but don't want to allow that privilege to the people who were here before them and made this country what it is. (used to be?). We aren't a melting pot anymore.

To me, the south is one of the last places that has people with common sense and good old American values. America- love it or back to where you came from.

I totally second that. You're right, it doesn't matter what our color is or our religion or anything else, point is, we are Americans yet the people who don't belong here (illegal, regardless of where) come here, take, take, take and then complain when we complain...it makes absosutely no sense. Somewhere in there we lost OUR rights...when, where and how? Why can they come here and make statements, arguments and complaints against us yet we can't say anything about them coming here in the first place? Look at the news today, how did it turn out that in AMERICA, millions of illegal immigrants are protesting?! We have bent so much that these people are now OPEN and PROUD to be ILLEGAL and they're getting away with protesting and making demands!!!!!!!! Sorry, but they should have no say so what-so-ever. Look at that kid who was in Singapore (maybe 10 years ago). He got caned. That was their law and punishment and he had to suffer the consequences even though he was a "foreigner" there. Why is it okay for people to come here illegally, not pay for anything but take our jobs, food, welfare, go to our schools, etc. but if these same people get in trouble, then suddenly the trial is botched because they don't speak English, don't understand our culture and customs and the turn-around yet once again is we're racist toward that particular person or group (they like to take offensive as a "group" too). Round them up, put them on a plane or boat and send them outta here back to where they came from! These are the kind of people who are going to cause us to have our freedom revoked.

As to avoid offending anyone: this is not directed toward people who are here legally or going through the process of legalization, nor am I directing this toward any one race, color, sex or religion. I'm generalizing the people who shouldn't be here so "freely".

Don't bet on that. 27 inches overnight in Jan 2000. You won't have to do it every year, but you will have to do it. Never say never... unless ofcourse you were moving to Florida.

I'm the one who can't wait to leave FL and you are wrong....i hated it from the time i got here 20 years ago when i was 15. I especially hate the weather. If i could live wherever in the world without worrying about family being in FL, i would move to Colorado, but being we have family that we love, we want to be within driving distance. you may not want other people in YOUR state, but we visited NC several times and got nothing but a very warm welcome....you should be more like your neighbors

Default EllieMae, Markh, RedNC, I'mInformed

Check this out:

"We are the backbone of what America is, legal or illegal, it doesn't matter," said Melanie Lugo, who was among thousands attending a rally in Denver with her husband and their third-grade daughter.

Got that off the news on optonline.net, THEY are OUR backbone.

Hey you Florida folks, Florida is awesome but those Palmetto bugs scare the s**t out of me a HUGE one hissed at us and ran directly toward my husband in our condo (I was on a chair screaming)!!! We didn't know what the heck it was until maintenance chuckled at our phone call. In Jersey, the bugs usually run AWAY (thank God because I'm arachnaphobic/insectophobic--is that a word?). Everyone we told that lives there or has been there nodded their heads, laughed at us and said, I quote "Oh, that's nothing, some are bigger, but they don't bite". AAAGGGHHH!!!!!!

I remember that big snow your talking about. It was however 6 years ago!!

You know that snow isnt much of a big deal here when people talk about the "last big snow" and it was 6 years ago.
