There is also a Trader Joe's in Midtown, A Publix and Harris Teeter in SoutEnd, and a Harris teeter in Plaza Midwood. That would make 7 grocery stores in Center City Charlotte.

Dont forget the grocery store in Target in Midtown and the Food Lion in NoDa.... that would be 9.

The SouthEnd Teeter is further away from center city than the Dilworth Teeter. I don't consider either of them close to center city. There's also the the Food Lion in Dilworth and the Compare foods in Noda if you want to count locations way outside of uptown. Might as well call it 12 if somehow this is a (very odd) feather in Charlotte's cap.
If there are any younger "Generation X, Y, Z or Post Z" folks on this thread, Urban Outfitters recently opened a retail store in The Dillion (Warehouse District Raleigh). I have taken my daughter there several times; she loves it and I think that it is very wierd. I am too old to be hip apparently. Anyway, nice example of non - grocery retail in a cool DT area.

That seemed pretty isolated to me from what looked to be the rest of downtown. Dillon is a nice development though. I stumbled in front of it from Amtrak once.

I am sorry that you stumbled and I hope you weren't hurt. Like North Hills, the Warehouse District is a work in progress, primarily by Kane. Amtrak is a multi-modal transportation Hub, with a soon to start 40 story tower to be constructed there. The Warehouse District also includes companies such as Citrix. Other recently announced developments include Park South which is beside the Warehouse District.
Oh don't take Amtrak from D.C. Better off driving.
Please accept my sincere apology. It's not called "Amtrak". It's called Raleigh Union Station, which is a multi -modal transportation hub. A 40 story multi-modal tower is to be built beside the building commonly referred to as Amtrak, which is now called Union Station. I agree; very confusing.
There are multiple grocery stories and a movie theater inside of 277.
