Unless I am mistaken, Red Hat corporate headquarters is still located in downtown Raleigh. Still growing like gangbusters. Stock is now owned by IBM insteaded of publically traded. It is considered an independent subsidiary of IBM headquartered in Raleigh.
Yes, but by becoming a part of IBM, it will no longer be reported on the Fortune 1,000 as a publicly traded company based in Raleigh. The Fortune 1,000 is only independent public companies, not private subsidiary businesses. Hence "Berkshire Hathaway" is on the Fortune 1,000, but none of the businesses they own entirely like GEICO, Fruit of the Loom, BNSF Railway, et... are on it. All Fortune 1,000 companies currently have stock available to the public for purchase. So the RedHat subsidiary as a private business is certainly a significant HQ in Raleigh, but would not be on the specific list of the largest public corporations in America. IBM will be.

I see your point. However, I didn't realize that being a Fortune 1000 was a thing - I always thought that Fortune 500 was the traditional gold standard. Maybe things have changed. Anyway, Redhat remaining in Raleigh is a big deal IMO. Same for SAS in Cary , although that remains a private company. Both are well known international companies, neither being on the Fortune 500-1000 lists.
Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. (NYSE: HLT) launched a new lifestyle brand Thursday with as many as 60 hotels in the pipeline, including in D.C.
Tempo by Hilton is marketed as an "approachable lifestyle brand" that serves "modern achievers."
McLean-based Hilton has identified 30-something locations for initial Tempo hotels, including in the District, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Nashville, San Diego, Charlotte, Houston, Atlanta and Maui. Another 30 deals are in various stages of development. Hilton declined to identify the exact locations.

What is a "modern achiever" and what is an "approachable lifestyle brand" ? Can Hilton translate in plain English ? This strikes me as as yet another attempt to dump another hotel "brand" into the marketplace without pissing off their existing franchisees.

F1000 is certainly a thing although the F500 list would be, as you say, the gold standard. Still the F1000 list contains some notable names and big and profitable companies in their own right.
The City of Raleigh has hired highly esteemed Danish architect Henning Larsen along with local design firm RATIO to design the future City of Raleigh municipal campus. Plans call for a 3 phases (towers) of development. The first, dubbed East Civic Tower calls for a 20 story, 420,000 sq ft tower that will server as the new city hall. Phase 2 will add a second 20 story civic tower and phase 3 will be a public-private development project on the north end.
DTRaleigh Community is reporting that the Raleigh Convention Center will seek to build a 500+ room hotel or a 500+ room hotel + office tower in front of the Performing Arts Center on the south end of Fayetteville Street.
