From a May 10 2018 Business Journal article

""Minneapolis-based U.S. Bank is the seventh-largest bank in the country, boasting 73,000 employees and $462 billion in assets as of Dec. 31. U.S. Bank’s presence has exploded over the last decade in Charlotte, where it now employs almost 800 people. Its hub here is based out of Hearst Tower, a space that executives predict the bank will grow out of in the next several years.""
and this
""There are probably three main hubs of the corporate and commercial banking in U.S. Bank. There’s our headquarters in Minneapolis, and it would be Charlotte, and it would be New York. We’re very geographically diverse across the country, but those are kind of the main three hubs.""

Wilmington’s explosive growth expanding to nearby counties

One of North Carolina’s hottest real estate markets continues to be – surprise! – Pender County.

The county, located just north of Wilmington, includes Topsail Beach and Surf City. Data from the North Carolina Regional Multiple Listing Services, as gathered by Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, showed Pender County had a 32% increase in home sales from May 2017 to May 2018. And the median price in the county rose 3% to $266,500.
Audie Barefoot, president and CEO of Raleigh’s Fonville Morisey Barefoot, is involved in projects in that region and says the explosive growth in Wilmington has pushed developers to look to nearby counties for opportunities.

“In New Hanover, there’s not much left to develop, so it’s going up Highway 17 to Hampstead, to Scotts Hill,” he says.
“There’s a lot going on. It’s going to Brunswick or going to Pender.”

If only Durham could get the LRT under construction, it would only enhance downton.

Yeah. The station is already in a great spot. I believe the University Ford Kia dealership is moving eventually. It’s not far around the block on Williard St. I could see a huge mixed use tower and development going there. Especially with it butting up to the ATC and ballpark.

While Durham still has a way to go as far as height, density is really picking up in the Bull City.
