This.. competition is steep here. . My husband is also in finance (brokerage investment) and it took him over year to find a job..I'm talking 75+ applications. Landed a job with a trillion dollar finance company. We like it but are considering other opportunities elsewhere later this year.
As a New England transplant, I agree with many of the posters. NC is just so different from MA, it may be difficult to find what you may be looking for. In terms of the look and the feel of the area outside of Boston, you might consider the general Raleigh and even Durham area. We chose that over Charlotte because it looked very green lots of trees, parks and recreational areas. Public transportation may not be comparable but if you have a car you could work around it. You would really have to visit and come see what it "feels" like to you!

I agree. The Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area has a feel that is more similar to Boston than Charlotte. Even though Charlotte is larger, it still has a more traditional southern feel, with all that comes with that.
People there are not as friendly and welcoming, as they are in the Triangle area.

Do you REALLY want to brag about how the Triangle's mentality is more like Boston's?
You must have overlooked the info graphic in that same series that listed Charlotte as one of the city’s most unwelcoming to blacks lol
