Hi! We are thinking about moving to Charlotte and I’m looking for some info on the suburbs. We live in a small town in PA now and love the feel of that. So we’re looking for a community that has that small town feel that is safe and family friendly. We’re a homeschool family and would love to be in a community that has a lot of other homeschool families. We have family in Boone, so something closer to that direction would be nice, although we don’t want to have to commute too far. Thank you!!

There are a lot of homeschoolers in the Huntersville and Matthews areas. Matthews has a better downtown than Huntersville but will be slightly farther away from Boone (by ~30 minutes or so). Huntersville's downtown is pretty much just a crossroads, with the rest of the town being almost entirely suburban. Either way, development has pretty much blurred any proverbial line between Charlotte and its surrounding municipalities, so both Huntersville and Matthews are essentially extensions of Charlotte at this point.

The link below is an image of a town 20 mins north of Charlotte that I think you'd like. It's also 20 mins closer to Boone than Charlotte is if you take I-77 north to US 421.

Davidson, NC

Denver, NC is another good option between Charlotte and Boone.
