(Basically since Durham’s percent growth rate is so much higher than Greensboro, based on trends, the gap will close even faster as time passes.)

Barring a surprise in the 2020 census, Durham will pass Greensboro in 2021 or 2022.
I took the population right off each city's individual wiki page for 2018, not 2019. I checked the source of the wiki list you posted and the link took me to an error page. So then I searched that very same Fact Finder Census page and the most recent figures were the same ones I used for 2018. They did not have 2019 available that I could find. So no, I did not shortchange Durham nor did I gift Greensboro 2k. I don't trust that that list is accurate. I've attached my screenshots too.

But hey, you could be right. I'm just trying to figure out the best way for me to estimate how much each city will grow by year. If you wanna take a shot at it using the percentage and compounding impact, be my guest. I think we're just gonna have to wait for the census to see where we're at.

There are a few sites that have estimated populations out there. I can’t remember which one does current year projections, but wiki sometimes uses those. Obviously census estimates for last year provide the most uniformity and clarity, but they can under and over report by rather alarming rates so we likely won’t have a good handle on the current race for #3 until actual 2020 numbers are released.

And as a matter of fact, i recall one of the key reasons publix chose guilford county over wake and other states was due to the ease of access provided by the convenience of Urban Loop, And in all honesty that is a really genius peice of road layout.
It’s not like Wake is lacking in loop roads.

i'm speaking of connectivity and cohesiveness, Greensboro, Guilford take the cake in that department. That is a very well thought out and well connected freeway system. Similar to systems you see in much larger cities.

I see a quasi circle that looks like it changes numbers a few times. I’m not sure what Durham’s map is doing in there.

There's a lot of overlapping or concurrent route numbers with the Greensboro Urban Loop. The whole thing will be I-840 when its completed but parts overlap with I-73, I-85 and I-785.

.
I think if you lived in Greensboro before you will understand. Just living in Greensboro before and living in the triangle now, the way roads flow and connect are better in the triad.

The final stage is all about reducing comute times to an absolute minimum and having a very well connected and easy to access city.

Charlotte snd DC are prime examples of well connected loop.

Eventhough DC looks like a nightmare, it's connected with 495.

I mean it looks just like 440 I guess is my point/question. I can’t see how Wake specifically loses in a battle of loop roads.
