Hello how are you?
me and my 6 year old is moving from NYC to NC ( Chapel Hill ) shortly
I heard health insurance is very expensive in NC
I got a job with no insurance benefit
so I have to buy my own
I hope someone can give me advice on which insurance company is affordable
my job is just normal pay so it's a big concern
I was excited for the move until now I am hesitated and worried about the insurance....sorry if I sound silly.
we hold Medicaid card in NYC so I have never paid insurance out of my pocket

North Carolina has a "Health Choice" program for people who make too much to qualify for Medicaid and too little to pay for private insurance. You will have to apply once you establish residence, but here is some information now: https://medicaid.ncdhhs.gov/medicaid...-health-choice

You might be asked if the child's father is able to provide health insurance.
