Are you ready for it? Think it's too early or glad that we're part of Super Tuesday? Plan to vote early between Feb. 13-29 or by mail or on the day of the primary? Just curious on how fellow City-Data members are feeling about this (and try to keep politics on this to a minimum so it stays in the state's forum).

As a political junkie I'm very excited about NC being part of Super Tuesday. Our traditional primary date meant most of the excitement was over before we cast our votes.

I almost always vote early in person, but in a small town its not a big deal. No worry about long lines on voting day.

I've spent a good amount of time researching and meeting candidates in order to make an informed choice. My only real complaint is that where I live is heavily tilted towards the party I'm not affiliated with, so many of the primary races (especially at the county and General Assembly level) don't have primaries for me to vote in.

There has to be a better way to handle primary voting. In counties heavily tilted toward one party, it disenfranchises a large but minority percentage of the population. The primary is essentially the election.
it has happened in our county several times at the commissioner level.

One good solution is for individuals to declare themselves Independants. That way they can vote in their non-preferred party for important local offices like Commissioners and School Board.

-.-“ I move away from NC and NOW it decides to be a relevant state in the primaries?

I’ll never get to have an impactful primary vote, lol.
