Not defending him but..... There is some weird law on the books that protects senators and congress from the laws against insider trading. Obama passed a law to prohibit that, but somehow was re instituted a year later if I recall correctly.

So true sb! He did come off as a bit more "dignified" than Tillis who had a few "rocky" and "down and dirty" periods in the state legislature. I hope these crooked Sons of Attila the Hun become nearly forgotten footnotes to NC political history ....ASAP.

I remember my mother watching the Watergate hearings. Senator Sam (Ervin) was a highlight to everyone. We need to elect senators like him.

Amen, but unfortunately, there are precious few who are like him, and most of them aren't willing to face today's vicious political gauntlet. I don't blame them.
