So despite the awfulness of the NCGA, Cooper has done an amazing job.

“Make no mistake, the legislation we are seeing today are attempts from Republicans to usurp power from Governor-elect Roy Cooper after losing the election,” Little said. “Republicans should be ashamed of these unprecedented power grabs that have no place in our democracy.”

I remember Durham County "found" a bunch of unaccounted ballots at the eleventh hour on election night that decided the gubernatorial election.

Let's be honest though...not a lot of changes in the 1st phase as we are still encouraged to stay at home. Parks opened back up but people were still going to parks. A couple of the malls open back up but what stores will actually open? We still have at least 2 weeks until phase 2...

I agree Cooper has done a good job, especially, as others have said, in comparison to governors in some nearby states.

His press conferences are full of useful info and he lets subject matter experts speak on their areas of expertise.

He's put up with a lot and done so with remarkable dignity. He's also had quite a few crises to deal with since he's been in office, from that due process power grab, to Hurricanes Florence, Michael, Dorian, and now this.

I agree with you. I thought I had included a sentence to that effect in my post, but I guess I did not.

Agree. And executives are often judged (and should be) by the people they surround themselves with. Dr. Cohen, for one, is excellent.

NC one of only 14 states to not have expanded Medicaid. Gov. @RoyCooperNC says the issue is going to be on the ballot this Nov.
may be the biggest issue in the upcoming election." Missouri voters will decide in November.

cooper hasn't done anything though besides follow advice of designated experts. Abbot in Texas I would say is giving more actual leadership.
