State of Emergency declared in Charlotte as Protestors clash with police statewide. The state and nation are grieving and enraged.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Chairperson of the Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners and Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles issued a joint proclamation of a State of Emergency, effective immediately.
It comes after protests in Charlotte Friday night over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody turned violent.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Friday, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department deemed the gathering "unlawful" and had ordered the demonstrators to disperse.
The State of Emergency proclamation, issued May 30 at 12 p.m., cites that "civil unrest has created a state of emergency" in both the city and county.

Got pretty heated in Greensboro tonight. Police are in riot gear and deployed pepper spray and tear gas a few times. Some car windows , business windows in downtown Greensboro including the International Civil Rights museum window was smashed. Earlier today the protestors shut down I-40 and were walking on the interstate. Protestors are still out in the streets in downtown Greensboro.

Looks like the story all over the country.

I saw that on wfmy. car rams through protestors in downtown Greensboro and more tear gas being deployed

Chaos in downtown Greensboro. More windows being broken and now looting has started.

Feels like almost the whole country is on fire tonight. Downtown Raleigh has looked like a war zone for hours now. I think just about every business down Fayetteville st has had its store front smashed in.

Yes. Looked like it was under control fairly quickly though.

Multiple fires set in DTR throughout the night. With the latest being a fairly large one near Moore Square.
