Pretty straight forward I need to file a new deed in Durham for my house. House is paid for my name is only one on the deed due to credit considerations with the mortgage when I bought the house a few years back.



I need to put my wife's name on the deed now and I am looking for a lawyer in the area who won't charge an arm and a leg. Any recommendations?

I'd call the attorney who originally did your closing and ask what they would charge.

BTW: You posted this on the general NC Board instead of the Triangle Board.

depending on how long ago you bought, that closing attorney might charge you $50 + recording fee.
