My family and I would like to move to a small town where you have the change of seasons with SOME SNOW. We would like it to have a small town feel with freindly people but within an hour of city amenities. NEAR MOUNTIANS any thoughts?

Define small town. Do you want to be in the mountains or just near (1 hour) the mountains.
less than an hour from the mountains or right at the bottom , i think being on the moutain will cause snow overload lol or i could be wrong
How large is your ideal "small town"? You're not going to find that much snow in the Mountain Region of NC in general. The snowiest areas are along the border of NC & TN.
