My wife and I had plans to go to Boone for a three-year anniversary. Booked a cabin via Airbnb. Well I get an email today that our reservation was canceled for tomorrow because apparently the owner had a heart attack. So now I’m scrambling to try to make and come up with some other plans in the North Carolina area. We reside in Raleigh / Cary.
Any ideas for a two day getaway? The beach is pretty much booked, the few remaining rentals aren’t very nice and overpriced.
Literally don’t Care what your idea might be just throw it out there and something will click. LOL my wife is sweet as can be until I mess up things like anniversaries, etc.

Thank you!

Check on the Delware board for help with Rehobeth Beach or Dewey Beach.

I say go to West Virginia, but I'm always saying that.
It's about three hours to Bluefield and about four to the
New River Gorge area. Beautiful country is an understatement.
Good luck wherever you go!

Check out Getaway. My neighbors have used them a few times and they seem pretty affordable. I think their cabins are over by Asheboro.

check out Airbnb at Beech Mt, Sugar Mt or Banner Elk. Plenty of ski places so off-season always a one or two bedroom condo for cheaper than a whole house.

Depending upon where it is, 20 minutes to Boone from Sugar area and 30 to 40 minutes to Boone from Beech area.

Are there no other options around Boone? Although it is nasty weather this week for May. Grrrr. I like it hot.

Keep in mind there are gas shortages happening right now, might not want to go too far.

The Kimpton in Winston. It is a lovely hotel with a great bar. We have great restaurants!
