A new website from the NC Department of Health and Human Services gives lots of information about how the COVID-19 vaccine will roll out in the state. For those who want a summary rather than click, here goes:

Current Phase 1a: Health care workers fighting COVID-19 & Long-Term Care staff and residents

1b: Adults 75 years or older and frontline essential workers 50 years or older.

2: Adults at high risk for exposure and at increased risk of severe illness, including anyone 65-74 years old, regardless of health status or living situation; anyone 16-64 years old with high-risk medical conditions that increase risk of severe disease from COVID; and any essential workers not yet vaccinated.

3: College and university students and K-12 students age 16 and over.

4: Everyone who wants a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccination.

Thanks for the link.

My concern is this theoretical scenario/plan/mental placebo could have been rolled out 6 months ago in it's current form. Who cares if you are 1a or 4F if the dates aren't penciled in. As Sargent Schultz so eloquently said, "I know nothing, nothing."

Here in Onslow County, the Health Department is working on the 1B people, 75 and older. I am schuduled for next Tuesday the 12th. They seem to be schuling 10 minutes apart, so it may take a while.

I also got on a list with my Primary Care doctor, but am going with whoever notifies me first. I urge everyone to try the alternate sources they are eligible for.

I can't give you more reputation again, so I'll just say publicly thank you for sharing this.

For Craven, the NCDHHS vaccine site links the FaceBook page of the hospital and health department. There is NOTHING on either site that says anything the least bit actionable about when/where/how.

An utter, absolute waste.

Thank you.

Most of that is from a press release . . . . Which is buried deep inside their web site under a Press Release link but neither posted nor linked on the Vaccine page.

Avery County Health Dept does a great job using their FB page to keep everyone informed. They've got several days scheduled over the next two weeks for 1b - 75 & over.
