I was looking around ashewville or hickory as a area to travel so not much more than 30 min from either or. What

Hickory has several small towns around it that might work for you.Lincolnton is pretty nice,so is Maiden The towns are huge supporters of school activities. Go to wlon.com on a friday night and the local radio is broadcasting the sports event. Very school,family and church oriented
