Hi all, We are moving to Ft Bragg in July and I am finding mixed results about on-post housing and could use some help. Is the on post housing good (i.e. Picerne's management, house/apt sizes, etc) and which neighborhood would you recommend for E5 2-bedroom (house or apartment)? Some articles I've found say housing is good and Picerne is great, others say the exact opposite (yikes!). I have found a lot of information on rentals off post so I know it wont be difficult to find something in the area but with DH deploying it would probably be easier to be on post. We are coming from South Korea and haven't lived on/near a base stateside ever, so don't have much experience that way.

Thoughts, suggestions, please share! Thanks!

Do you have children? If so, you will definitely need to consider the school districts. We chose to live off post, as we are tired of base housing.Base housing never allows you to get away from the ARMY life and can be good/bad depending on your neighbors. We are living in the Stoney Pt area which is known for having the best schools in Cumberland County. I do not go on post much. The housing I have seen seems fairly nice. We rent a nice home(1700 sq ft) with a 2 car garage in a safe quiet neighborhood for $925. So, you may want to check into renting which would give you more sq footage and probably a bigger yard. I would avoid Spring Lake altogether. Hope Mills is a nice area as well. If you have children let me know, so I can give you some info on which schools to avoid. Good luck!
