I believe online orders also are exempt. The wording is a little confusing if you follow the links. Exempt implies that you don't have to pay taxes on it (I original thought it meant it was exempt from being tax-free).

Yes its a nice gesture and yes you do save a little extra, and a lot of people look at it as "getting over on the state". Funny thing is though, an apparel company I used to work for always had promotions offering 10 or 15 percent off throughout the year and you could hardly drag people in. But have a tax-free weekend and they came in droves.
