We are looking for folks who enjoy riding after we move to the area. My hubby and I both owned horses and plan to get two again after we're settled. My hubby also has his ESMT [Equestrian Sport Massage Therapist ] certification. Is there a market for this service in the Asheville area?
Thanks mm34b thats about the distance we travel now to ride outside of the city so it's not a hardship. How about tack shops for western riding? Any in the Asheville area or would they be in and around the Tryon / Polk County area?

Arden & Fletcher are surburbs of Asheville. The Asheville Regional Airport is also located in that area, which is 15 miles from Asheville and 9 miles from Hendersonville on Interstate 26.

Forget about Asheville and go to TRYON or Columbus in Polk county it's a great area and people live for horses!!! IMO your wasting your time in Asheville when the heart of horse country in WNC is Tryon. best to you
Thanks for the info archtopguitar! I've been offered a great job in Asheville so for now I'll have to travel to get my equestrian fix!! lol.. hope to meet lots of like minded folks and get back in the saddle! We miss it and to be honest I personally even miss muckin' out stalls. For the past 5 summers I helped a friend of mine ship cattle in Kansas. It's hard, dirty, tiresome work but there is no place I'd rather spend my summer. Hope to be ridin' in Tryon real soon! Best,
t'weedz
