Hello! I'm very new to NC and don't quite know which area Wilson would be considered so I'm posting this to the general NC forum. I'm sorry if it should be in a different forum.

Could anyone recommend a good mechanic in or near Wilson? In Michigan it was usually small family owned repair shops that did the best work, just wondering where I should look here for having breaks looked over as my right rear break makes a horrible sound every time I break.

Thanks so much!

There are a bunch of small shops in Wilson, like the one on the corner of Nash and Raleigh Road. However I have only taken my wife's car to a dealer (because it is computer controlled) once, and one other time we took it in for tires. So I haven't found an independent mechanic yet either. (I am watching this thread for recommendations )

We have only been here for a little over a year and a half ourselves.

Being that brake repairs are usually easy, and if you can hear noise you have likely gone through the pads. I would take it to the Colony tire on Airport Road near Nash. They seemed fair when we got tires there, and most shops work to a labor rate book for common repairs so you can't really shop around.

Otherwise, ask around at the auto parts stores as to whom they would recommend.

Regards

Dave
