I am a female singer from PA. I spend a lot of time in washington dc and i have been looking at various areas around the country to find a good job ,pursue music and still live in a really nice area with growth. I have been hearing a lot about NC. I have been to parts of it but always drove and drove and drove to get from one place to the next. I am hoping to find somewhere where things are closer together. I was told that raleigh- durham, and other surrounding areas like chappel-hill would be great places to look around. I have read some threads on here and some have said otherwise. I am not sure what to think. I would be greatful if anyone could give me direction. This is a life changing endeavor and dream pursuance that I take very seriously.. thank you to all who respond.

You're going to see a wide variety of opinions about the same location. Everyone has a different definition of the "good life". None of them are wrong, so don't be concerned by conflicting information.

Hey thank you very much for your response..Do you happen to knowif there are there opportunities there if you are a singer or performer.?..see i used to be on a record label LG records in walnut Cove NC..but it disbanded after the owner died.. So I recorded a song that is now an orphan. but I want to hook up people who want to help legitimately... and that is not easy .. So this is a begin again kind of thing...

I'd suggest checking the Chamber of Commerce web sites for areas in which you are interested - they usually have links that provide info on things happening in their area, including musical and artistic events (many are yearly or seasonal events with artists and groups habitually attending) - also follow the links for the specific artists and groups that interest you and see where they live and get their contact info - I'll bet you'll find at least a few who would be happy to impart some helpful info to you

raleigh would be a great city for you. It's on the move. You can find great places to live outside of the city. I live outside of raleigh, 25 minutes away. Check it out one weekend for yourself.
